2007-11
Early Nov. Nadesh joined Sheela to prepare her 3 min solo for the Mayim
project. Sheela was unfortunately not able to create a new choreography
due to lack of time, so she chose to use elements of the Indian dance
forms Nadesh already knew and weave them into a coherent fabric that
could mesh with the "Folklore" section that opened the 2nd half of this
3 hour program.
The Mayim days with the 33 young soloists were intense, and Sheela's emergency kit (echinacea, arnica oil and rescue remedy) were in constant use, as was Tea and Sympathy. She also led sessions in Moving Breath during the rehearsal period, and coached some of the young soloists for their individual solos. Their talent, youth, beauty and passion for dance and their capacity to bond into a deeply supportive family was yet more evidence (evi-dance), of our dream of "one world, one heart" beyond all artificially constructed frontiers. Jutta Czurda's project was a huge success (sold out performances and standing ovations) and a profoundly beautiful hymn to life beyond the shadows of torture and death. The 1 hour documentary film by Jakov Sedlar, whose team was with us for the duration of this very special adventure, will be premiered in Fuerth Sept. 18/19.
More under Mayim, and Jutta's words about Moving Mayim's Breath (coming soon...)
